Seaport Airlines holds ribbon cutting for new services
YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Yakima Chamber of Commerce and Seaport Airlines held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new services today.
They offer routes to Wenatchee and Portland. The company says the number of passengers flying out of Yakima has actually gone down since flights started last week. They've seen the largest amount of passengers flying from Wenatchee to Portland. The chamber thinks the airline will eventually do well.
"I'm elated that they're here. I think this is gonna compliment the services we already provide, and I want to make sure that people know that this is here for you," says Yakima Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Verlynn Best.
The airline runs three flights each to Wenatchee and Portland every day. They hope to expand that to four once business picks up.
