KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Tuesday SWX reported Southridge High basketball head coach Jason Devere and wrestling head coach Dave Brown are stepping down.

Devere was the Suns' head coach for eight seasons, while Brown was the head coach since 1996. Thursday SWX caught up with coach Devere, who talked about his decision to resign.

"It just felt good to me and my family. My family's been - my wife has been my biggest supporter as well as my kids. It's just time for me to look at some different challenges and some of those challenges is spending a little bit more time with them and coach their teams," Devere said.

"We feel really fortunate that we've had them for the time that we've had. We really believe that Southridge is better off because we've had them as our head coaches," said Ken Murray, Southridge athletic director.
