ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Mar. 7) -- Central Washington University senior Kati Davis (Olympia, Wash./Tumwater HS) will represent the Wildcat track and field team at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championships, to be held this Friday and Saturday (Mar. 9-10) at Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minn.

Davis, a pole vaulter, is making her second trip to the NCAA Division II national championships. She qualified for the outdoor championships in Turlock, Calif., last spring, placing seventh in the pole vault to earn All-American honors.

Her best vault during this winter's indoor campaign was a school-record mark of 3.80 meters (12 feet, 5 1/2 inches) at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 18. That mark, which won Davis the GNAC title, is tied for sixth-best in Division II entering this weekend's national meet.

The women's pole vault will be contested at 4:10 p.m. Central Standard Time (2:10 p.m. Pacific) on Friday.

Central Washington has had a total of six Division II All-Americans (four women's, two men's) during its indoor track and field history. Most recently, former Wildcat Becca Davis placed sixth in the women's pole vault at last year's indoor national championships in Albuquerque, N.M., while Krissy Tandle won the indoor national title in the shot put in 2009.
