HAPO Credit Union makes donation to 2nd Harvest

RICHLAND, Wash. - 2nd Harvest in Kennewick received a big donation Friday. The HAPO Community Credit Union presented them with a check for $25,000 in response to the shortages at local food banks.

2nd Harvest is a non-profit organization that provides food for smaller food banks in the area, so leaders at the credit union felt the giving to them would be the quickest and most efficient way to make an impact.

Dave Schulz, the President and CEO of HAPO, said "we are so blessed here, with a great place to live and a great economy, but have to remember there's 1000 families that are being fed by the food bank, we have a big need that's not being met."

HAPO says they want the rest of the community, particularly businesses, to join them in the "HAPO Challenge" to get involved, right now, and help to ease the immediate need for food in our area.
