Zillah Robot Challenge brings in students across the region
ZILLAH, Wash.-- Students from across the region head to the Lower Valley Saturday for the Zillah Robot Challenge.
Teams compete in challenges like "sumo bot", where two robots try to push each other out of a ring. Members of the 53rd EOD will come and let students drive some of their bomb disposal robots.
Teachers hope it encourages kids to consider careers in math and science.
"The students get a great introduction to programming. The experience can take them not only within robotics, that can go into computer programming, computer engineering, designing video games, what have you... So there's a lot of different aspects that are taught in the Zillah Robot Challenge," says Teacher Jeff Charbonneau.
It's happening this Saturday at Zillah High School and starts at 8:30 that morning and goes until 4:00. It's open to the public.
