Zillah winery takes part in March Madness fun

ZILLAH, Wash. -- The owners at Paradisos de Sol Winery are inviting visitors to be a part of the March Madness on the Rattlesnake Wine Trails event.

Now until March 1st, customers who come to the winery will be given a chance to win a $10 gift certificate. All they have to do, explains owner Paul Vandenberg, is to make two shots into a bucket using barrel bungs and they win.

Bungs are what winemakers use to plug the holes in wine barrels.

"Well, we're always looking for ways to remind people that we're here in the winter. A lot of people think that wine tasting is just something you do in the summer," Vandenberg explained. "So to encourage people to get out and about, we thought we'd try and make a little silliness out of the month of March."

The event runs until the end of the month. Paradisos del Sol is owned by Paul and his wife Barbara Sherman. The winery is open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily. They're located at 3230 Highland Drive in Zillah.
