KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans are in a fight for the top seed in the WHL's Western Conference.

Three games left in the regular season and the Ams are just one point ahead of Portland. Also Kamloops is in the running just four points back. Tri-City says getting the top seed definitely helps in the playoffs.

"Our great fans here, it's been well documented our record over the last while. We want to be in our building in front our fans, and I think that's a huge advantage for us and consequently we're going to do everything we got to get it," said Jim Hiller, Americans head coach.

"The guys in the room are definitely excited. It's an exciting time of year and everyone is definititely going to be bringing their top game because we want that first spot," added forward Brendan Shinnimin.
