YAKIMA, Wash. - A Granger man was found guilty today in a Yakima County courtroom on second degree murder charges. 20-year-old Nathan Bennett didn't show any emotion when the courtroom foreman read the verdict. He was found guilty of stabbing 48-year-old Leonardo Cantu Jr. over 20 times, killing him. Bennett claimed self defense, saying Cantu was trying to rape him. It happened over a year ago. The jury deliberated for about five and a half hours before returning to the courtroom. Bennett now faces anywhere from 12 to 18 years in jail. His bail was also changed from $200,000 to no bail at all.
