YAKIMA, Wash.-- There are new delays in the case against the man accused of leading police on a car chase last August. That ended in a gun fight in Yakima.
31-year-old Lance Nanamkin was supposed to be arraigned Friday, but he did not appear in the courtroom during proceedings.
His attorney told the judge that he is not capable of understanding the hearing, is confined to a wheelchair, and fades in and out of consciousness. The judge ordered a competency hearing next month.
Nanamkin faces several charges, including multiple counts of first degree assault.
