Yakima City council to hold hearing about future road repairs
YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Yakima City Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday night on a list of future road repairs.
The list is part of the "Transportation Benefit District" the council approved last year. Council members will present a list of the roads that need the most work and listen to public comment on the plan. However, after voting down car tab fees last month, they still don't know how they'll fund it.
"How the priorities are set and how the funding is fixed are two different things. Funding is going to be the hardest portion to deliver," says Councilman Bill Lover.
Lover says there are a number of ways to get money for the project, but they'd need to have voters approve them first. The hearing is Tuesday night at 6pm in Yakima City Hall.
