MABTON Wash.-- Volunteers from the University of Washington Bothell stopped by Mabton High School today as part of the Dream Project Tour.
The program focuses on encouraging low-income high school students to go to college. Volunteers answered questions about the application process and financial aid. They hope the information will push more students toward higher education.
"We really do believe that we can make a difference whether it just be one student or whether it be we're changing the lives of two, three, four as long as we're making one person really critically think about what college can offer them," says Catalina Alvarez with the Dream Project.
The tour visited five other schools this week, including Eisenhower and Sunnyside High Schools. They'll head to Chiawana High School tomorrow and Wenatchee Valley College on Friday.
