Franklin County Files Civil Lawsuit Against Former Employee
Pasco, Wash. - There's more trouble for the former Franklin County employee accused of embezzling millions of dollars.
County Prosecutor Shawn Sant has filed a civil lawsuit against Dennis Huston, the former accounting director of the county's public works department. The lawsuit asks a judge to freeze the assets of Huston and his wife.
Court documents also reveal that Huston is now accused of diverting more than $2.8 million of county funds to himself by creating false invoices for a company that didn't exist. Huston was arrested in February, but was released from jail when criminal charges were not filed. He has 20 days to respond to the lawsuit.
