SUNNYSIDE, Wash. -- Sunnyside Police have arrested a Prosser teen in connection with a deadly shooting Wednesday night at South Hill Park.
Yakima County coroner Jack Hawkins identified the victim as Francisco Bautista, 18, of Sunnyside.
Police arrested 18-year old Ismael Garcia of Prosser, around 7pm Thursday night.
Two other people are also in custody; a 14-year-old female and an 18-year-old male. They're being investigated as accomplices to murder, according to detectives.
Police say Bautista was a student at Sunnyside High School. They say he was not a documented gang member.
Sunnyside School District leaders wouldn't comment on this story, but did say they have counselors on-hand for students.
KNDO spoke to one of the students, off-campus, who tells us he was close friends with Bautista.
"I never thought that this would happen, but I guess stuff happens. He was on a roll to graduate," Sophomore student David Bradshaw said. "He has a kid, two years old. He was going to start looking for colleges probably sometime this week."
Bautista's death makes this the fifth homicide for Yakima County and the third for this month, according to the coroner.
Police say anyone with information about the shooting should call the Sunnyside Police Department at (509) 836-6200.
