Port of Pasco Commissioner resigns

PASCO, Wa. - On Tuesday, May 15th, Port of Pasco Commissioner O.E. "Ernie" Boston resigned from the Post of Pasco to concentrate on his recovery from surgery. 

Commissioner Boston has served on the Port commission since 1995. Commissioners were notified of his resignation while attending the Washington Public Ports Association annual meeting in Spokane, Washington. 

Both Commissioner Klindworth and Commissioner Reimann expressed their appreciation for Ernie's service to the Port District. Commission President Jim Klindworth stated that, "Ernie has been a respected member of the Board and will be greatly missed. Ernie understood the Port's value to the citizen's of the District, and worked tirelessly with Port commission and staff to transform it into one of the major economic contributors in Franklin County." 

Staff and Commissioners alike recognize the value he brought to the Port. His expertise and knowledge in real estate, and property development has proven to be invaluable over the 17 years that he served on the Commission. He has represented the Port on several boards such as TRIDEC, the Airports Council International (ACI), and the Association of Pacific Ports (APP). 

The Port Commissioners will discuss the process to appoint Commissioner Boston's successor at the May 24th Port meeting.
