Car prowler arrested and released, arrested again

KENNEWICK, Wa. - On Saturday, Kennewick police arrested a 15 year old boy from Kennewick for stealing a purse out of a car parked on the 400 block of S Washington Street.

Officers say around 3 PM, two people were seen running from the area. When police contacted the two boys, both 15 years old, they arrested the boy who admitted to stealing the purse, and released the second boy to his parents. 
Police say the second boy had paint on his hands that linked him to the recent "OMG" taggings. Officers searched his residence and sent a report to the Benton County Prosecutor recommending charges for gang graffiti.

Early Monday morning at 4:30 am, a woman living on the 2000 block of W 33rd place in Kennewick saw two young boys trying to break into her neighbor's car.

Kennewick Police arrived and found a 14 year old boy inside the car.  Officers say he tried to run, but Police took him into custody. Officers say he said he was with a friend, a 15 year old boy from Kennewick.

Officers were unable to find the 15 year old, but they were able to identify two victim vehicles, one was missing loose change.

Police contacted the mother of the 15 year old boy, who said her son was supposed to be at a 14 year old friend's house. Officers confirmed the same 15 year old was arrested and booked on Saturday.

The 14 year old was released to his mother. Police are recommencing vehicle prowl charges for the 14 and 15 year old boys.
