KENNEWICK, Wash.—A burglar is caught by police and on a neighbor's videotape.
The victim, Kennewick resident Elliott Lehner, says Monday he noticed $600 was missing from his trailer on the 1200 block of Second Avenue in Kennewick. He went to his neighbor who has 8 cameras posted on his home in hopes of catching thieves. Turns out Lehner's neighbor had video of the burglar in his backyard.
The following day Lehner says the images came in handy when the burglar came back for what he left behind.
"Here's the young kid sneaking out to my storage unit shed and taking a t-shirt out of there," says Elliott Lehner, burglarized.
Lehner says he chased after the boy and was able to grab his t-shirt and step on his backpack until police arrived.
Kennewick Police say they arrested the 15-year-old boy for burglary.
Neighbors say they have had several break-ins within the past few months. They hope the cameras warn burglars to stay away.
