Tri-Cities Fever bring back special teams stud Freddie Harris

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Fever bring back Freddie Harris. The Spokane Shock just cut the linebacker, so coach Adam Shackleford called up Harris and offered to sign him. Harris played all of last season with the Fever, serving as a special teams stand out and utility defensive player.

This season Harris moved up to the AFL, but he tells SWX why that did not work out. "Just being in that league, it's all bout the numbers game. You can only have a certain number of good guys, a certain number at a position. I guess my time there was done. They had a couple of vets come in," Harris said.

"He's a tremendous special teams player. He's maybe one of the best athletes in this league. He did a great job for us last year. He'll come out this week and fit in well," head coach Adam Shackleford praised.

"Freddie is an energy man, flying on kick offs, flying on kick returns. He's fast. He's real fast. He's like a big defensive back," quarterback Houston Lillard added.
