Fly a miniature airplane, help the Make A Wish Foundation
NEAR RICHLAND, Wash. -- If you ever wanted to fly a miniature airplane, this weekend is your chance. The Miniature Aircraft Association is helping the Make-A-Wish foundation, an organization that helps terminally ill children.
It's 25 dollars to fly your own model plane, or you can even do it with an instructor and his plane, with a set of two remotes. the MAA will be at Higgins Field all weekend and Monday and want you to help them raise some money.
"I totaled it up last night, we're at about $2,500 so we're about halfway to our goal. for the first day and the wind blowing like it is, it's a pretty good turnout," says Clark Hymas, the VP of MAA and event organizer.
Hymas said many local businesses donated thousands of dollars worth of prizes for an auction they plan on having. They have food, and prizes and camping. Hymas says they'll present a check to Make-A-Wish on Monday.
