RICHLAND, Wash. -- the Tri-Cities attracted a different breed of visitors, the Borzoi Club of America this Memorial Day Weekend. The club's national dog show ended up in Richland Washington this year.
Hundreds of owners from all over the country and world showcased their animals at Howard Amon Park in Richland. The Borzoi is a Russian breed.
Paul Garman traveled from Australia with is wife and they were impressed with Washington's beauty. "We think America is amazing because you have so much to see that we do not have. Just like Americans love to come to Australia, because we have the things that you don't see," says Garman.
One of the Judges, Patti Neal says she had people register all the way from Japan and China. Each year, they pick a different region in the country to get together. "The hotel was sold out quite a while ago, not with just us, but we did help fill it up pretty well. We're good for your local economy."
The group is staying at the Pasco Red Lion. More than 169 dogs participated in the event. Judging continues Sunday.
