TIETON, Wash. -- The Mighty Tieton Warehouse is bringing together colorful textiles from around the world into one exhibit, now until July.
It's part of the "Textiles Tieton: Gimme Shelter" event, featuring pieces collected by Alida and Christopher Latham.
The pieces on display come from all over the world, including India and Indonesia.
"It (textiles) was a way for people to do handwork. It was very portable and it could be taken with them with the nomadic people. And then used for warmth, for bed covers and also just around the walls," explained Alida, photographer and collector from Seattle.
Sylvia Imbock who works in Tieton, is also displaying pieces she collected from a recent trip to India.
"Getting to come back and share the pieces that I found, while I was on this trip, and share them with a broader audience and the community is really, really fulfilling," Imbock said.
The textiles exhibit runs through July 15th, at the Mighty Tieton Warehouse, located at 608 Wisconsin Avenue in Tieton.
