Kamiakin Chief statue dumped at school parking lot
KENNEWICK, Wash. --It could have been a prank, or school rivalry, or a random act of vandalism, but a Kamiakin High School senior and his mom made an unusual discovery at school Sunday morning.
Kyle Davis was working on his class project when he and his mom noticed the large, metal, Chief Kamiakin statue laying in the parking lot. The Chief usually is front and center in the court yard, bolted to a platform, and the gate is locked around it.
Davis does not think this is a senior prank. "I have no idea, probably someone from another school maybe. I highly doubt it would have been a Kamiakin Brave," says Davis about the stunt.
The statue does not appear damaged but Kennewick Police are calling this malicious mischief. They said they will be reviewing the school's surveillance video.
