BAKER COUNTY, Ore.-- Two women were involved in a fatal crash in Baker County on Monday. Two couples were riding together as a group when police say a driver in a Nissan pickup truck trying to pass the group hit 46 year old Leta Louise Currey from Pendleton and 53 year old Joanne Mohrland from Walla Walla . Currey was pronounced dead at the scene. Mohrland was critically injured and transported to Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. She is still in critical condition. Oregon State Police say 24 year old Derrick A. Coates was the driver of the truck. Police are still investigating the accident.
