SeaPort Airlines seeing fewer passengers than predicted
YAKIMA, Wash.-- After two months running flights out of the Yakima Airport, SeaPort Airlines says they're seeing fewer passengers than they predicted.
The airline offers round trip flights between Yakima, Wenatchee, and Portland. The company says ticket sales have doubled since the flights started but they still need more passengers. They hope to see more people taking flights during the summer months.
"We're behind where our predictions kinda said we would be... So, you know, we have concerns for Yakima, but we're still very positive that this is going to be a long term success for us and the community," says SeaPort President Rob McKinney.
SeaPort says while Yakima is lagging behind flights from Wenatchee are actually exceeding their expectations.
