BURBANK HEIGHTS, Wash.-- At 7:30 Wednesday morning a helicopter crashed at Flat Top Ranch apple orchard in the Burbank Heights area, off of SR 124.
An FAA investigator arrived at the orchard at 11:30am to assess the helicopter that dropped into the orchard and broke off a portion of its tail. The pilot was spraying the orchard when the helicopter went down and was not injured from the crash.
Walla Walla Sheriff's Office first responded and secured the scene till the FAA arrived from Spokane. The FAA investigator says he isn't sure how long the investigation will take.
The orchard owners are requesting no additional information be released at this time.
