PASCO, Wash. - Venus will move across the sun between 2:30 and sundown on June 5 of this year. The next time this phenomenon will happen, is in the year 2255.

Transits of Venus look like a dark spot going across the sun. It happens in pairs, after 243 years, then 8 years later, and then another 243 years and so forth.

The Moore Observatory is holding a public event on Tuesday night to help everyone see the transit safely with the use of special glasses and telescopes. The event is free and anyone can attend.
