Fatal Walla Walla break-in shooting protested

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) - It's been a month since a 22-year-old man was killed during a break-in at a store in Walla Walla.

The family and friends of Cesar Chavira have been protesting the shooting. They marched through the city Monday, demanding that the store owner who fired the fatal shot be prosecuted.

The owner of the New York Store Western Outfitters, John Saul, lives on the property. His lawyer, Michael Hubbard, says Saul was defending his property from a burglar.

The police investigation was turned over Friday to the Walla Walla County prosecutor who will decide whether Saul will be charged.
