SEATTLE – The company building the new floating bridge in Seattle has suspended five managers without pay for drinking on the job.
The Kiewit company took the action after Seattle TV station KOMO set up hidden cameras and recorded workers last month drinking at the site.
A Kiewit spokesman says its investigation found alcohol consumption did occur sporadically at the end of work days.
In addition to the suspensions, Kiewit says other employees may receive training or letters of counseling in their personnel files.
Kiewit is building the Highway 520 floating bridge under a $587 million contract.
