TACOMA, Wash. Pierce County prosecutors want Steven Powell to spend 10 years in prison for taking photos of two young girls.
Powell, 62, is the father-in-law of Susan Powell, who disappeared from her home in West Valley City, Utah, in late 2009. His son - her husband - Josh Powell killed himself and two sons in a February fire at a home in Graham.
A jury convicted Powell last month of 14 counts of voyeurism. Prosecutors say Powell took pictures of the girls in their bathroom. The girls lived next door.
The standard sentence would be about four years in prison, but prosecutors say Powell deserves 10 years to hold him accountable for crimes against both girls.
