Del Monte plans to keep former Snokist warehouse open
TERRACE HEIGHTS, Wash.-- Del Monte Foods has completed a deal to buy the remaining assets of Snokist in Terrace Heights.
Snokist went bankrupt in December and laid off over 600 employees at their processing plant there.
In a statement, Del Monte Foods said, "With this purchase, we will double our pear and cherry production output.... Given this production increase, we will continue to run the Sawyer cold storage facility and the Terrace Heights warehouse."
Right now, Del Monte is still working out a processing plan, but it looks like many of those laid off workers could get their jobs back.
