KENNEWICK, Wash.-- St. Joseph's Parish in Kennewick held a religious freedom rally Sunday.
The event was for prayer and education about political and religious issues.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops called for two weeks of religious freedom action, largely in response to the Health and Human Services mandate that religious organizations pay for contraceptives.
The event organizer, Robert DeLorenzo, says they're advocating for their religious rights.
"It's about religious freedom. It's about us addressing our Catholic faith with out being hampered by the government in the way we describe it, the way we practice it and the way we discuss it with other people," says DeLorenzo.
The fourteen day period begins on June 21st and ends on July 4th.
