Looney Murder Mistrial

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. - A judge has declared a mistrial for Sebastian Looney. The Yakima man admitted to killing 21 year old Gary Snell Jr. in December 2010 during a drug deal and hiding the body under his grandmother's porch in Terrace Heights. The question was whether it was self defense or not. The jury had the option of charging the 22 year old Looney with first degree premeditated murder, or felony first degree murder and robbery. Jurors said they found Looney not guilty of the premeditated murder charge, but couldn't agree on the robbery charge. Since the robbery charge was tied to the felony murder option, the jurors couldn't come to a verdict on that charge either, leading to the mistrial.
