Police got a call from neighbors about a man who collapsed near East Spruce Street and South Ninth Street. When officers arrived they found the man had several stab wounds to his stomach. He was rushed to the hospital and treated. Officers say his injuries are not life threatening.
"You know, we get a fair number of assaults against homeless folks, but to this degree is certainly significant," says Yakima Police Captain Rod Light.
Police say the victim was likely stabbed some time close to midnight. They say the man claims he does not remember who attacked him. If you have any more information about this case, you're encouraged to call the Yakima Police Department.
