YAKIMA, Wash.-- Yakima County held its Third Annual Reunification Week Celebration today at the Yakima County Juvenile Courthouse.
It honors parents who have struggled to regain custody of their kids after having them taken away in court. Parents received certificates commemorating the difficult process they made it through. One mother we talked to told us how happy she was to get her daughter back.
"It feels awesome... I mean, I feel like... Like I'm a mom again and she makes me happy and she just... It's really great to have her back," says Parent Renae Bersoza.
The ceremony was organized by volunteers with the Parent Advisory Committee. They hope these success stories will encourage other parents fighting to get their kids back.
