YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 27-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after police say she was shot multiple times in the upper chest and neck area.
Yakima Police officers had received a call of a gunshot victim on a shuttle bus in the area of Custer and Lincoln Avenue, just before 6 p.m. Friday.
Police say the victim had been taken directly to the hospital by the privately owned shuttle bus, which was which was being used as a personal vehicle.
Sgt. Tim Bardwell, with the Yakima Police Department, says the victim underwent surgery Saturday and is in stable condition.
"We're hoping that once she is no longer sedated and able to talk to us, that she'll be able to fill in the gaps and help us, you know, find out what exactly happened," Sgt. Bardwell said.
Police do not have any suspect information at this time.
YPD will continue to investigate the shooting.
