Summer Safety Fun Fair

PASCO, Wash.-- Kids came out to enjoy activities at the 2nd Annual Summer Safety Fun Fair in Pasco Saturday.

The event focused on water, bike and horse safety. Children were fit for bike helmets and taught safety tips as they rode around cones at the Collegium community center in Pasco. There were also horse rides to teach them about how to safely enjoy the animals.

Event worker, Amber Stredwick, says there's a lot to teach the kids about safety.

"It's important for kids to be knowledgeable and safe about biking and helmet safety. And how to stay safe and how important their brain is to them. And how easy it is to lose that and also how to stay safe in the water and know what to do if you need help," says Stredwick.

The target age group for this education program is kids from kindergarten through fifth grade.
