MORROW COUNTY, Ore. - The Morrow County Sheriff's Department is investigating two separate assaults that happened Sunday night.
Deputies say around 10:21pm a 32 year old Boardman man was putting his dogs in kennels when he was attacked. The man had been hit once and received a knife wound to his leg. No other information has been released.
The second assault happened around 10:38pm at the Irrigon Mobile Court. Deputies say there was an argument between the manager, 32 year old Joseph Newby, and four Hispanic men. Deputies say the four men attacked Newby then he was hit by a car. As the four men were leaving the scene they hit an irrigation riser and their van got stuck causing some minor flooding. All four men took off running. Deputies were able to catch up with one of the men, another turned himself in a short time later. 23 year old Saul Salas Salas and 23 year old Robert Hector Verduzco, both from Irrigon are now in the Umatilla County Jail on multiple charges. Deputies are still looking for the two other men involved.
Deputies say Newby was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital with minor injuries.
