Defense rests in Sandusky trial

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Jurors have gone home for the day after defense attorneys rested their case without Jerry Sandusky taking the stand.

The 68-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach could spend the rest of his life in state prison if convicted of 51 counts for alleged abuse of 10 boys over 15 years.

The defense rested Wednesday after both sides presented seven days of testimony, including that of eight accusers who say Sandusky sexually abused them.

They jury could begin deliberating Thursday.
