DUI Patrols and Operation Dry Water

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- Law enforcement agencies across Washington State say they are ramping up DUI patrols.

From Friday until July 8th they'll be out in full force.

Deputies say they're trying to prevent and reduce DUI's with highly visible patrols.

They'll be on the lookout for swerving, not signaling and a host of other tell-tale signs.

Enforcement doesn't end on land, Operation Dry Water starts today as well.

"Running too close to other vessels, trying to splash each other with their wake. Basically unsafe operation. Anything you wouldn't want to do in a car you wouldn't want to do on the water," Franklin County Sheriff Deputy Mark Boyer.

Deputies say to avoid getting a DUI or BUI use a designated sober driver, or celebrate without alcohol.
