Columbia River below Priest Rapids Dam near flood stage

PASCO, Wash.- Grant County P.U.D. is currently doing work on the spillway of Priest Rapids Dam that necessitates high outflows from the dam.  The Columbia River below Priest Rapids Dam will be near flood stage for several nights. It is expected that the work can be completed without exceeding flood stage.  Those with interests on the Columbia River below Priest Rapids Dam should monitor National Weather Service Statements, Watches, and Warnings for the latest information. 

High water levels will be seen on the Columbia River through the Tri-Cities for the next several days.  The river may be moving more swiftly due to the high outflows of the dam.  Increased flow could bring more and larger debris into the waterway.  Franklin County emergency managements says to use additional caution while on the Columbia River.
