KENNEWICK, Wash.-  Deputies say around noon Tuesday they responded to a call in south eastern Kennewick where a wife claimed her husband had pushed her to the ground and swung a machete at her.

Rebecca Futch reported that she and her husband, 29 year old Robert Futch had been arguing when he pushed her onto the ground and broke a mirror on her car as she was trying to leave.

Deputies say after she left the residence Robert texted Rebecca and stated he was going to lock the doors on the detached shop and hang himself.

Reportedly there were shotguns and a hunting rifle at the location.  Containment was set up at the residence and after numerous attempts to call his cell and hailing from a vehicle, at about 6:49 p.m. Futch exited the shop and was taken into custody.

Rebecca also reported that Robert had previously swung a machete at her and smashed a cell phone that was sitting a few inches from her hand about a week or so ago.

Futch was booked for Assault 2nd and Malicious Mischief DV, for the damage to the vehicle and the cell phone.  A search warrant was conducted which revealed evidence of the broken cell phone, as well as the machete.
