KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A mother and her two young children are lucky to be alive after their Kennewick home goes up in flames. It happened just after five at 1318 S. Lincoln Drive, near 14th Court.

Kennewick Fire Department was responding to a different kitchen fire on 10th and Johnson when they were paged for this one. Officials say by the time they arrived, the home was about 70 percent engulfed in flames, and the streets were blocked off.

"I was heading home and I saw smoke, and I figured someone was burning in their yard. I came down the street. The police wouldn't let me come down the street because they were setting up the fire engines and I had to park way down the street just to walk up and find out it wasn't my house." says Craig Goranson, who lives next door to the house.

The home is a complete loss. They are currently investigating the cause, but officials believe it may have started at the back of the house.
