Cancer survivor author visits Kennewick General Hospital
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Make A Wish Foundation is granting a wish for an 18-year-old girl that's a little different than the rest. They're funding her book tour.
Melinda Marchiano is in remission from Hodgkin's Lymphoma and wrote a memoir about her fight against the disease. Melinda stopped at Kennewick General Hospital on her tour of the west coast speaking at local hospitals and signing free books for attendees.
"People can connect with my story and book in different ways based off what they're going through in their own lives right now. Or my father passed away from cancer, my niece currently has cancer. Everyone is touched by cancer in some way," says Marchiano.
Her book has received a lot of great reviews, including one from cancer survivor Lance Armstrong.
