Richland parks get new fountains for pets and people
RICHLAND, Wash. -- Just in time for the hot summer weather, Richland is giving people and their pets new drinking fountains in some of their parks.
The city bought several new fountains, that feature a four facet system; one for adults, one shorter one for youngsters that's also handy-cap accessible, a bowl for dogs and a faucet for water bottles.
"We are promoting Richland's tasty water. You can refill your container so you're not using as many recyclable plastic bottles. And its just a good thing, its going to keep plastic bottles out of our environment. And its going to promote our own healthy drinking water,"says Gail Everett the Environmental Education Coordinator with the city.
There are two fountains along the Keene Road path which stretches to Badger Mountain Park from Eastgate. There are also several fountains at the Babe Ruth Baseball Fields near Horn Rapids.
