RICHLAND, Wash. -- Richland Police are asking drivers to pay closer attention to the road signs, or be prepared to pay the price.
Officer David Clark, with the city's newest Traffic Unit says he and his partner have given out more than 120 citations off of George Washington Way and Swift Blvd. in the last two weeks.
The officers have increased patrols, made better signs, but say that drivers still turn left at intersections they're not supposed to.
"People are making that left turn even with that sign repositioned. And when we're stopping them, they were admitting to seeing the sign and they just basically ignored it," says Clark.
During busy construction hours, there is no left turn at any of the intersections off Gway, including Knight street, Swift blvd and Lee blvd.
Clark says, at certain times you can turn left on Swift, but make sure there are no signs up.
A ticket costs $124 dollars.
