NEAR WAPATO, Wash., -- A Yakima man died Wednesday after being run over by a tractor, while working at an orchard near Wapato.
Francisco Espinoza, 44, was changing the tire on a trailer when the tractor it was attached to ran over him, pulling the trailer over him as well.
It happened around 9am, at Chief Orchards, on the 2,800 block of West Wapato Road, about three miles west of town.
"The tractor pulled the trailer completely over him and when the first person came across him, they called the fire aid. They tried to do CPR on him but they were unsuccessful," said Sgt. Cory Sanderson with YSO.
The Sheriff's Office says the Department of Labor and Industries will be doing an investigation because it was a workplace death.
The Yakima County Coroner says severe head and chest trauma was the official cause of death.
