Former police officer announces run for county commissioner
PASCO, Wash. -- Another person has decided to jump into the race for Franklin County Commissioner.
Former Pasco police officer Patrick Barnett was surrounded by family and friends as he formally announced he'll run against Bob Koch for his seat on the Board of Commissioners.
According to Barnett, there were several reasons he decided to jump into the race, but he told us the former county accountant Dennis Huston embezzlement case was the deciding factor.
"What would have Donald Trump come in and done if this was his company? And I think everybody knows what he would say, and it comes down to that some aspect. You get to really go down, I think it's top - down," says Barnett.
Barnett adds his past as a business owner running a consulting firm gives him knowledge of how to turn around the county's economy.
He also says his past as a police officer gives him special interest in dealing with gang crime.
