Yakima, WASH.--The Yakima Valley Folk Life Association is holding its 30th annual Folk Life Festival Saturday and Sunday.
The concert series in Franklin Park started Saturday at 11am. Bands from all over the country play on stages either set up in the park or at a location downtown.
Brian Felix, the president of the Yakima Valley Folk Life Association, said for 30 years the message of the festival has always been the same, which is to inspire and bring together people who enjoy music.
"The number of people that have decided they were going to learn to play an instrument and ended up at least [playing] music as a hobby is phenomenal from here at Folk Life," said Felix.
The musicians change every hour on the hour and admission is completely free and open to the public.
