KENNEWICK, Wash. -- For the first time since the Powerball game changed to $2 a ticket, Washington has a winner.

And that lucky person is... unknown!

This lucky winner in Kennewick bought a Powerball ticket for the July 7th drawing worth $2, but they purchased the extra $1 Power Play option - which doubled their prize from $1 million to $2 million.

To put that in prospective, the winner could spend their winnings on:

  • 6,688 Tri-Cities Dust Devils season tickets.
  • More than 166,000 rounds of golf at the Columbia Parks golf course in Kennewick.
  • More than 1.3 million pounds of u-pick Bing or Rainier cherries at local cherry farms.
  • Take the entire population (253,340) of the Tri-Cities to the movies  to see  see "The Dark Knight Rises" when it opens on July 20.
  • Float the Spokane River with all (28,313) of the undergraduate students at Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University and Washington State University combined.

Lottery winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes, so this winner has until January 3rd 2013 to claim their $2 million.
