Yakima, WASH.--Democratic Candidates in Yakima plan to have more Meet and Greet events after their first one was deemed a success.

Local candidates held an informational meeting Friday night at the North First Street Conference Center.

Mary Baechler, the Democratic Candidate for the 4th Congressional District said she was happy with the turnout.

She said audience members were very candid in expressing their concerns and the meeting lasted well over two hours.

"The audience asked very tough questions and we went back and forth answering them, and it was really educational" said Baechler. "But it was a chance for us to listen to the voters and that's what we want to do."

Baechler said that as a candidate it is important to talk with voters and understand their values.

She said local Democratic Candidates want to continue hearing public input and will hold another discussion forum next Friday.
