Heritage University's Children's Center reopens

Posted: Updated:

Toppenish, WASH--We have the latest for you on Heritage University's progress after a fire destroyed one of their oldest buildings last Sunday.

The Children's Center will reopen tomorrow and resume normal hours.

The center is next to the building that caught on fire, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze so it did not destroy nearby facilities. The Children's Center only suffered minor smoke damage.

Bonnie Hughes, the Communications Officer for Heritage University, said, "The very minimal smoke damage that was in there has been cleared out. The air's been scrubbed, the place has been cleaned and we're excited to see the kiddos back on campus."

The University is now registering students for the fall season.

The main phone line is working, but the email system is still down. Temporary emails have been set up and will be sent out once the Internet is back up.
